Allen Township, organized on June 5, 1827, is located in the southwestern corner of Union County, Ohio. Rich in pioneer heritage, small historic communities, and preserved landmarks, the township’s history reflects the growth, challenges, and resilience of rural Ohio.

Bounded by Liberty and Paris Townships to the north, Paris Township to the east, Union Township and Champaign County to the south, and Logan County to the west, Allen Township developed from dense forest and wetlands into a thriving agricultural and residential community.
