Profile

I was raised on a dairy farm in
Northwest Ohio. I enjoy hard work and
the outdoors. I married Angelina in
2005 and together we are raising our
four boys: Gregory, David, Timothy
and Michael. I have been working in
the Department of Defense for over 25
years with a specialty in non-kinetic
strike technologies. During this time, I
created and transitioned two small
engineering firms into large businesses.
With my wife and our children, we
continue to build on our farming
operation starting with 55 acres of
tillable land in Allen Township. Most of
our farms are still in the township. I am
very active in our church and lead the
Life Teen program. I actively serve in
several volunteer positions as Trustee
for the Knights of Columbus, Trustee for
the Union County Foundation, and 4-H
advisor. I enjoy supporting our
community and Allen Township.

Fiscal Officer

Lori LaCella

Fiscal Officer

llacella@allentwp.org

15935 Allen Center Rd.

Marysville, OH 43040

(937) 645-0742

The TOWNSHIP FISCAL OFFICER is an elected official and is independent of the township trustees; yet by law, he or she must work closely with the trustees. The trustees have the legislative authority in the township, and the Fiscal Officer must keep an accurate record of all township accounts and transactions. It is the responsibility of the Fiscal Officer to comply strictly with the legal requirements set for the position’s duties, to establish and practice rules for efficient management of the office, and to follow good accounting practices in maintaining records and accounts.

The Ohio Revised Code states several required duties of the Fiscal Officer including, but not limited to:

  1. keeping an accurate record of the proceedings of Allen Township Board  Trustee meetings
  2. keeping accurate records of all the accounts and transactions of the township trustees
  3. issuing all checks
  4. preparing payroll

Each year the Fiscal Officer must prepare an estimate of the revenues and expenditures for the next succeeding year and submit it to the county auditor. Once this is done, a resolution is passed by the trustees that formally adopts the budget as revised and approved by the County Auditor.
